The HDA was invited by NASHO, in conjunction with the Wits Business School, to take part in a Wits School of Governance training programme called the Social and Rental Housing Programme, on 18 September. Lucien Rakgoale (HO) gave a presentation providing inputs on “Land assembly for human settlements”, and was supported by Lebeko (HO).

The presentation focused on land assembly programme for human settlements.

The focus items were:

  • Where the HDA fits in the housing process
  • How the HDA supports public and private land release
  • How the HDA works/operates

The programme was attended by housing officials from different provinces and municipalities, and the lecture was very well received.

Thank you for making yourself available for this intervention and ensuring the continued involvement of the HDA in this crucial training of public officials,” said John Mofokeng (Co-ordinator: Capacity Development at NASHO).
