The Promotion of Access to Information Act
The HDA, as a public entity, strives to seek full compliance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA underlines the importance of access to information for an open, democratic and transparent society.
PAIA gives legislative form to section 32 of the Constitution of South Africa, which says that:
Everyone has the right of access to:
(a) any information held by the state; and
(b) any information that is held by another person and that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights.
The HDA has developed the relevant forms and manual to enable requestors to access information in terms of the PAIA. Below please find the Promotion of Access to Information Act and Access to Information Form.
